Mayor of Gdańsk

Aleksandra Dulkiewicz (born July 10, 1979 in Gdańsk) - Polish local government activist and lawyer. She graduated from the 3rd High School in Gdańsk and studied law at the University of Gdańsk and Paris Lodron University in Salzburg.

She started her professional career by gaining skills and experience alongside the mayor of Gdańsk, Paweł Adamowicz, as his assistant. She took part in Gdańsk’s preparations for the UEFA EURO 2012 TM and participated in the creation of the European Solidarity Center.

In March 2017, the Mayor of Gdańsk Paweł Adamowicz entrusted her with the position of his deputy for economic policy. During the 2018 local government elections, she was the head of Adamowicz’s electoral staff: 'Wszystko dla Gdańska'. (“Everything for Gdańsk”).

After the assassination of Mayor Adamowicz during the Christmas Charity festival on January 13, 2019 she took on his duties as acting mayor of Gdańsk.

As a result of by-election Aleksandra Dulkiewicz was elected city mayor. She is the President of the Management Board of the Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area and is a member of the Management Board of the Union of Polish Metropolises. Mayor Dulkiewicz is also a member of the European Committee of the Regions, and chairman of the Working Group Ukraine.
