Dr. Aikaterini Dimitrakopoulou is Head of Sector responsible for integration of third-country nationals in DG Migration and Home affairs. She has extensive experience in justice and home affairs. In the past, she has specialised in data protection and European citizenship in the European Commission. She has studied environmental law in the University of Athens (Greece) and then went on to complete a Masters’ degree and a Ph.D. in European competition law in the University of Hamburg (Germany). Before joining the EU institutions, she has worked as a lawyer specialising in competition and telecoms regulation
